Background:
Rose Hill Veterinary Practice was founded in 1998 with the goal of providing full-service care to all animals in a previously underserved portion of the Virginia Piedmont. With headquarters in Rappahannock County, the practice has grown to include two full-service facilities.

Requirements:
Rose Hill was in a need of a overhaul of their current website in 2008. With the growing number of client they have and the list of potential clients on the rise, the need for a website that would keep clients informed and potential clients aware of their services was required. The important factor that they relayed was that they wanted the ability to handle all content and images, inside of the template, on their own. This would allow them to relay any information they needed to at their convenience. At the same time, Rose Hill wanted to have ways for clients and visitors to find information that otherwise would require them to find on by calling the offices.

Solutions:
We worked side by side with Rose Hill to create a Content Management System that would allow all information on the site to be handled by the staff at Rose Hill. They have the ability to manage all content, images, and photographs. They have access to a browser based administration panel that they use to make all updates to the website.

We also put an e-mail address with each of their staff members along with a contact form for visitors to the site to fill out if they had general requests. To make sure all visitors to the site could be helped in emergency situations, we developed a Google map that showed where all of the emergency clinics could be located with directions and contact information.

Inside of the Content Management System is a photo gallery that is full administered by Rose Hill. This has been used very well by the clinic.

Results:
The clinic has done a wonderful job of maintaining their site with the backend management system. It has proven helpful in handling many requests for information that, if not on the website, they would have to handle by phone or in person. Along with that, the site has helped the clinic to handle many of their clients needs after hours when the staff in not available at the offices.

Background:
Region 15 is one of 18 regions in the United States and Canada for the Arabian Horse Association. The region represents the Arabian horse clubs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Deleware, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. The member count for the region is over 2300 members.

Requirements:
The initial goal of the website was to redesign the site to allow visitors to the site to get a background on the region and the clubs in the region. Once the redesign was under way there was a desire to create a community site that would allow members to interact and stay informed on the happenings in the region. This task was important as there are members in different states who needed to stay informed on the same information but had no way of doing so.

Solutions:
A database driven websites was created that used community driven components to satisfy the needs of the director, delegates, club presidents and members. The first component installed was a regional forum that allowed members to interact among themselves and post information for other members. The second component was installing directories that allowed members to add farms, trainers and stallion into. This was to be used as a free way for members of the region to gain exposure at no cost. The third component was to create a newsletter program that would allow members and others to sign up for that would allow them to receive monthly news from the region in their e-mail box. This has been used for members to receive the regions directors message, monthly events and deadlines, and other information that was important for that month.

Result:
The region has used the website to increase the interaction in a region that spans multiple states. This has helped to keep members on top of news and other information that they otherwise would not been aware of. It also has helped to put information into the hands of potential members at a reasonable cost to the region. With the use of dynamic creation of PDF’s, the region has been able to put the proper information into the hands of people that have an interest in it.

It has been a valuable tool for the clubs of the region as a way to promote each club and give information out to the visitors of the website.
