We developed a custom Facebook Fan page for Horse and Rider Club that allows fans to play these fun games through Facebook as well as see some of the videos and educational material from Facebook without having to go to the website.

With the front end, we changed the look and feel so that the header of the website would not take up valuable real estate and added another zone for advertising. We also added a top menu for their growing online network of sites. With this, we also added jQuery UI tabs on the home page that pulls information from their Facebook page, Twitter page, My Equine Journal site, and from different categories in their cms.

Over the past 3 years this system has grown into a full blown system that is being used by our customers. The system is being used on farm websites, magazine websites, stallion websites, and product company websites for the equine industry. The system has over 20 components that can be integrated depending on the needs you have for your website. Here are a few of the components available:

1) Ability to add/edit/delete horses – This is the unique part of the system for the equine farms especially. Not only can you add information about the horse, you can also add a pedigree, photo gallery, video, show results, progeny, and more.

8 Reference sires and dams – this allows for auto population of pedigrees so you don’t have to enter them manually every time.
9) File Browser – This allows you to create folders and store photos, videos, documents, etc. for use at any time or to retrieve if you are away from your computer
10) FTP Explorer - This allows you to give people access to certain folders on your site to upload/download documents between you and that person
11) Photo Galleries - Create unlimited albums with unlimited photos in each album. The photos also have a commenting system if you desire to use. The system allows you to crop the photos once you have uploaded them and you can upload multiple photos at one time, so yo don’t have to do them one at a time.
12) Site Settings – Set different settings such as address, email address, phone number, and much more that you can change at any time.
13) Sitemap Generator – This is great tool to use to create a sitemap that will allow the search engine robots to easily get around your website and index your pages for the search engine listings.
14) Manage Users – Have different users with different access levels handle the system for you. You set the users access rights and what they can change in the system that will determine how your website looks.
15) Social Networking – Setup your website with your Facebook fan page and/or your Twitter page so that your system will send information to the social networks.
16) Newsletter – Run your own newsletter with our robust newsletter system that allows you to send out text or html email to an unlimited amount of groups you set in the system. This is probably the most robust part of the system.
17) Calendar of Events – If you want to share events with visitors to your website you can do so by using this component. All you have to do is enter the information and all events are displayed in calendar format on the website.
18) Microsoft Excel importer – If you have large amounts of data you want to import, you can do so with the importer that will import from excel or csv file.
19) Database explorer – This is a graphical user interface of your database that allows you to view data, filter data, export data into excel, pdf, html, or csv. You can also create custom reports on the data you filter.
20) Banner Advertising Manager – If you want to run ads on your website and have the ability for people to pay for running ads on your site, this is a great component. You set how many zones you want to run, where you want them to run, and then visitors can sign up for advertising. Advertising can be banner or text advertising.

We do have other components that are available that are custom made and we can create other custom components depending on your needs. With Aria International, who we built a custom website using our Equine CMS, we are able to pull information from the CMS over to their Facebook fan page in real time for visitors of Facebook. So anytime Aria updates their CMS, the information automatically goes onto their Facebook fan page.

To make the experience unique when visiting their fan page, we set up a custom welcome tab that any visitor will start at, as seen below:

You will notice that their fan page has custom tabs for Stallions, Mares, and sale horses. We also have created a custom contact form and other features that you can see if you visit their Facebook fan page. Below you will see the tab that lists the mares from their CMS.

The Leelanau School believes that learning is a lifelong endeavor. Leelanau students develop self-awareness, creativity, discipline, curiosity and empathy to use their intelligence well. Our school community values the whole person and seeks to know each student individually in order to help them become self-directed independent learners whether in a classroom, in the dorm, traveling abroad or around a campfire in the wilderness. Simply, they gain the independence and freedom they desire by demonstrating competence and mastery of their learning.

The school came to use searching for ways to increase their identity and placement in the search engines as well as optimize the website for all of the types of visitors coming to the site. We worked with the school in creating and developing a plan that would provide important information for parents and students, potential students, teachers, and other schools.

Now that we have the site redesigned, we will be implementing a custom content management system for the school so the school can maintain their own site at any given time. In the meantime, we developed the site to provide content in an easy fashion using a system that would allow large amounts of information to be shared in an easy way.
